Kosciusko County officials agreed to apply for a $10,000 First Soarscribe Foundation grant to support the Kosciusko Community Recovery Program (KCRP) operating in the Kosciusko County Jail.
Chris, identified in the meeting as a representative of KCRP, told the county that the grant is a nonmatching award and would buy radio equipment for peer recovery coaches and fund “release packages for the inmates that are leaving incarceration … hygiene products, clothing, things like that.” When asked, a board member asked, “So what's KCRP?” and Chris answered, “Kosciusko Community Recovery Program.”
The request drew a motion to approve from Rachel and a second from Kim; the motion was approved with the board’s customary voice vote and signature procedure noted in the record.
