Votes at a glance: Hartland board approves vouchers, events and sculpture; sends mobile‑vendor policy to park board

The Village of Hartland board voted on several routine and substantive items at its recent meeting, approving payments, event permits and a public sculpture while referring a contested mobile‑vendor matter to the park board for study.

The board approved vouchers for payments totaling $723,258.68 after a motion to pay the vouchers. A trustee asked for clarification about several law‑enforcement charges listed as “phone searches” (vendor LexisNexis); village staff said LexisNexis provides investigative phone‑record search services and agreed to follow up on line‑item questions.

The board also approved a set of event applications referred from the park board: Kilometers Explore Charter School was granted permission to stage its May 6 “Pirates” concert at Nixon Park’s stage; National Night Out was approved for Aug. 7 with a board amendment clarifying that food trucks may attend but must be properly permitted and pay applicable fees; and the park‑board referral of S3 Deli’s Nixon Park request (and Little Dipper’s cart) was approved for further review by the park board (see separate article on mobile vendors).
