Council approves small community grants: student leadership, senior events, posters and league membership

The Castle Dale City Council approved several small community expenditures during its April meeting, including funding for student leadership travel, senior-class events and printed senior posters, and authorized payment of the city's annual membership fee to the Utah League of Cities and Towns.
Council members voted unanimously to donate $100 to Claire, a student representing Emory High Student Council, to help cover costs for a leadership program; Claire told the council she was "excited to go and learn more about leadership" and said she would report back after attending. The council asked that recipients of city-provided funds return to report on their activity.
The council also approved a $250 donation to the high school's senior-class graduation party and agreed to help match the class with a three-hour community service project on May 5; council members discussed logistics and asked staff to identify a project timed for 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the scheduled day.
Emily Mills requested funding to produce printed senior posters for the city to display; Mills said there are 31 seniors and each poster would cost $35. The council voted to proceed with the poster program and directed staff to work out the logistics of where and how the posters will be displayed.
Separately, the council approved payment of the Utah League of Cities and Towns membership fee for the 2025'6 cycle in the amount of $906.53. The council recorded these actions by unanimous voice vote.
