No public comment as commission holds public hearing on city stormwater pollution prevention plan

The Oak Grove Planning Commission opened and closed a public hearing on April 18 to receive public comment on the city’s Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and its annual reporting requirements under the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit.
Chuck, the city’s engineer, told commissioners the city operates under an MS4 permit issued by the state pollution control agency, and the plan documents actions the city must take during the five-year permit cycle: maintain GIS maps of stormwater assets, inspect stormwater features annually, perform public education (including illicit discharge reporting and pet-waste practices), and document activities in the annual report. Chuck said the city recently underwent a self-audit to ensure compliance for the 2024 season and that the state—and increasingly the EPA—have been auditing MS4 permit compliance.
No members of the public came forward to comment and Lauren reported no written comments had been received. The commission closed the hearing and took no further action; staff said any comments received would be incorporated into the city’s annual report and that staff will continue MS4 implementation work with county and consultant partners.
