The Ivins Planning Commission on April 1 approved a Class 4 conditional use permit (CUP) amendment allowing the temporary relocation of three modular construction trailers at the Black Desert Resort project, saying the proposed placements do not create the kinds of negative noise, lighting or traffic impacts that would require denial.
The amendment responds to site changes tied to construction of an underground parking structure and a water park. Coco Head, managing counsel for Black Desert, told the commission the company moved at least one trailer before filing the amendment and apologized for the timing: “I did not coordinate well with our construction team. And one of the buildings got moved to a location before I could file this. So I apologize. That's on me.”
Commissioners said they visited the site and agreed the three trailers as relocated are mostly screened from Snow Canyon Parkway, will be temporary, and have access to utilities.
