Youth commission action-plan update: microgrants temporarily on hold; evaluation work to continue with new staff support

Committee members were briefed that the evaluation of Milwaukee County youth-serving programs is part of the commission’s action plan and that the item is extensive. An incoming staff member identified as Bess was described as bringing expertise in evaluation and data analysis; commissioners and adult advisers said that expertise should help the commission make measurable progress on the evaluation goal.
An adult adviser praised the youth participants’ performance at a day of advocacy in Madison and said the evaluation work is expected to reappear on committee agendas as the commission develops a plan and pursues subject-matter experts to support the effort. No dollar amounts for microgrants or a timeline for OCC approval were provided during the report.
