Included on the consent agenda were:
- Resolution 20 25-016, approving correction of manifest clerical errors on real property accounts and authorizing refunds in excess of $10,000. Finance committee materials described the errors as affecting hand-counted oil and gas parcels; two parcels required refunds of $11,049 and $11,787. The committee reported seven affected oil-and-gas properties and said staff will audit prior-year data to avoid recurrence.
- Ordinance 20 24-19-34, accepting and appropriating $5,000,000 in congressionally directed spending from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), for upgrading the mechanical and power plant at South Peninsula Hospital. The ordinance includes a one percent administrative service fee ($50,000) the borough will pay. The project is intended to relocate the hospital's mechanical and power plant to an external site and upgrade operations. A public hearing for this ordinance is scheduled for April 15.
- Ordinance 20 25-006, providing an exception to borough code to accept fiscal year 2026 late-filed senior citizen grant applications for the senior citizen grant program. The ordinance was described as allowing a small number of senior centers that filed late to participate so seniors are not penalized for administrative delays; a public hearing is scheduled for April 15.
- KPB-6774, confirmation of appointments to service-area boards: Rachel Sullivan (Eastern Peninsula Highway Emergency Service Area, seat A, term expiring 10/2027) and Janet Hewitt Coley (Western Emergency Service Area, seat A, term expiring 10/2026).
The clerk read the consent items into the record and no members of the public testified on these items. The assembly approved the agenda and consent agenda as amended by unanimous consent after several members offered to add specific items into the consent list earlier in the meeting.
The HRSA grant acceptance will require subsequent contract and appropriation steps; the assembly approved placing the ordinance on the consent agenda and proceeding with the public hearing and adoption process on the scheduled date.
