A proposed entertainment center behind Chipotle remains unfunded; committee members said the applicant is seeking an SBA loan to begin work.
Rajaratnam said the farmers market has moved to the north side of Balsam Street and that vendors report weekly attendance of roughly 200–250 people. Committee members also discussed downtown Balsam Street revitalization and said the city is seeking grant options for that work.
On tourism and film permitting, the committee reported delays in film-permit processing because a federal permit processor in the Lone Pine office took a layoff option; what had been a 2–3 week turnaround for some permits is now taking about two months, the committee noted. The committee characterized overall lodging occupancy as stable because of military presence on the nearby base but flagged national immigration and federal staffing changes as possible future pressures on tourism.
