Superintendent Gall and district staff briefed the Colorado Springs School District 11 board on April 16 with an update on Jenkins Middle School repair and re‑occupancy plans.
District leaders said their priorities are safety, keeping students together for learning, and minimizing relocations for families and staff. The superintendent said contractors have submitted plans to regional and state building departments and the Colorado Springs Fire Department to support both partial occupancy in August 2025 and a complete re‑occupancy by August 2026.
The district said contract awards for work on the gym and media center were finalized the prior week, and mobile classroom placement is being arranged for partial occupancy. The superintendent described renderings of a new academic wing and said the district expects crews and equipment on site “in very short order.”
District staff also said they will schedule a community meeting in May to finalize classroom assignments and schedules for the return to partial occupancy.
Ending: The board treated the Jenkins update as informational and moved on to the Mitchell High School presentation.
