Council committees plan stakeholder talks after public concerns about downtown parking and kiosk system

The borough said a meeting with the parking authority, its solicitor and SEPTA is scheduled to discuss logistics for parking passes the authority purchased and how to allocate them to residents or business employees. The agenda will also address concerns raised on social media about bridge-area maintenance and the value of fixed kiosks versus mobile-payment (ParkMobile) options.
Public safety staff also highlighted short-term operational items: increased patrols in problem areas (for example, around the Kugel ball) and potential upgrades to a pedestrian crossing at West Main and Susquehanna, which staff said could be handled internally if repaving schedules permit but may require coordination with PennDOT.
No final votes were recorded in the work session; committees will return to council with recommendations after stakeholder meetings and public outreach.
