Board approves a slate of ordinances and resolutions covering settlements, planning, infrastructure and contracts

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors handled a broad set of routine and substantive items at its March 5, 2024 meeting, approving a number of ordinances and resolutions on first or final reading. Several items drew little floor debate and were taken as "same house, same call." Below are the principal outcomes recorded on the floor.

Major votes and approvals recorded on the floor - Item 8: Ordinance to extend the sunset date of contracting waivers for homeless services. Vote: 7 ayes, 4 no (Supervisors Chan, Dorsey, Peskin and Safaie voted no). Outcome: finally passed.

- Item 9: Ordinance authorizing settlement of Mason Masuda lawsuit for $9,000,000 (alleged personal injury on a city street). Vote: 11 ayes. Outcome: finally passed.

- Item 10: Amendment to the planning code adjusting density limits in Northeast Waterfront Historic District and Jackson Square Historic District (with exceptions for projects using the commercial-to-residential adaptive reuse program). Vote: 8 ayes, 3 no (Supervisors Dorsey, Engadio, Melgar voted no). Outcome: finally passed.

- Item 11: Ordinance requiring conditional-use authorization to convert private parking or vehicle storage lots to fleet charging in PDR districts. Vote: 11 ayes. Outcome: finally passed.
