The San Francisco Board of Supervisors voted to continue most of the Treasure Island/Yerba Buena Island development items to allow additional review and to ensure related hearings and appeals are handled together. The items encompass environmental findings, General Plan and Planning Code amendments, subdivision code changes, a development agreement and several related interagency and conveyance agreements.
Supervisor Kim moved to continue items 26 through 36 to June 7, except item 32. The deputy city attorney advised the board that item 32 — an ordinance approving a development agreement — requires additional public noticing under state law and should be referred back to the Land Use Committee. The board adopted the revised motion; the continuance and referral were seconded and agreed to without roll call objection.
The continued items include CEQA findings, designations within the General Plan, zoning and subdivision code changes, the transportation implementation plan, disposition and development agreements, the economic development conveyance memorandum of agreement for transfer of the former naval station, and public trust exchange agreements. The referral of item 32 to the Land Use Committee means the proposed development agreement will receive further committee consideration and public notice before returning to the full board.
Ending: Board members said the continuance would allow the CEQA appeal and related items to be heard together and to give the public additional opportunities for input. The Land Use Committee will schedule the development‑agreement item for future public hearings consistent with state noticing requirements.
