Summary

At Tuesday's meeting the San Francisco Board of Supervisors approved multiple consent items, committee reports and resolutions without extended debate. Key items the board adopted include:
- Grants and workforce items: The board authorized the Office of Economic and Workforce Development to accept and expend approximately $604,000 from the California Employment Development Department for the Clean Energy Workforce Training Program and to add one grant-funded position (ordinance approved on first reading). The board also authorized a retroactive acceptance of approximately $238,000 from the U.S. Department of Labor for a Green Jobs Workforce Development Training program (first reading) and authorized the Office of Economic and Workforce Development to accept approximately $750,000 in Community Services Block Grant funds from the State Department of Community Services and Development to support CityBuild summer youth employment programs (resolution adopted).
- Property conveyance and easements: The board approved a resolution authorizing conveyance of property rights and easements in Alameda County under the SFPUC jurisdiction to Caltrans for $6,000 (resolution adopted).
- Planning and zoning: The board amended the Planning Code to extend the Market and Octavia impact fee area, and approved an in-session amendment clarifying treatment of projects already in the entitlement process. Supervisor Wiener recused himself from that vote; the ordinance passed on first reading as amended.
- Settlements: Committee reports forwarded several settlement ordinances authorizing partial settlements and condemnation-related actions; those ordinances passed on first reading as listed in the rules committee report.
- Janitorial workers at 1 South Van Ness: The board adopted a resolution supporting the reinstatement of janitors who previously worked at 1 South Van Ness and are represented by SEIU Local 87; the resolution was amended and adopted with broad cosponsorship.
- Other committee reports and minor items: The board adopted a resolution authorizing the Port of San Francisco to accept approximately $15,000 from the California Department of Boating and Waterways for removal and demolition of abandoned recreational watercraft on port property, and a number of minor resolutions and ordinances listed on the agenda were adopted without separate debate.
Where items passed on first reading, the board noted final passage would be considered at a subsequent meeting when required. The clerk recorded roll-call tallies where votes were taken; most consent and committee-report items passed unanimously or with recorded ayes as noted in the minutes.
