Residents, supervisors call for response after armed operative attended Bayview community meeting

Dozens of members of the public used the March 9 public-comment period at the Board of Supervisors to condemn an incident at a Bayview Hunters Point community meeting in which an armed operative linked to developer Lennar attended a meeting and, according to multiple attendees, was later disarmed and detained by community members and security.

Supervisor Daly said he will introduce a resolution urging Lennar to issue a formal written apology to the SLAM coalition and the city for the companys behavior and called for a hearing. He described outreach to meeting attendees and said accounts he heard from people who were present contradicted a newspaper account that alleged racial epithets and more violent conduct. Daly said he wanted the city to probe the incident and "get the truth out."
