Supervisor Mercarimi, speaking in support of the resolution, cited changes after the Central Freeway dismantling and the rise in local families and businesses, saying the area would benefit from a more pedestrian-friendly, transit- and bicycle-friendly street layout. "It only makes sense that we respond now to the changes of Octavia Boulevard," Mercarimi said.
The resolution was adopted under the board—s "same house, same call" procedure.
