Supervisor continues 455 Buena Vista parcel map dispute for one week after neighborhood objections

Mark Pincus, the property owner, told the board he had met with neighbors at Supervisor Dufty’s request and reached agreement on some issues but would not accept additional constraints the neighbors later requested. He said his plan was to place apartments on one new lot and a house on the other. Neighbors spoke against the split, stressing prior agreements with the previous owner that had established a building envelope to protect views and neighborhood character. One neighbor said he had not been contacted by the new owner and asked the board to uphold the appeal to deny the subdivision.
Supervisor Dufty said he was sympathetic to both sides and asked for a one-week continuance to allow the parties to try to reach agreement and for the city attorney to prepare findings. The board filed the hearing record and continued the related items (motions approving or disapproving the director of public works’ decision) one week so the parties could pursue a last attempt at a negotiated resolution.
