The Kenai Peninsula Borough Plan Committee elected Commissioner Gillum as chair and Commissioner Whitney as vice chair at its April 14 meeting.
Committee members nominated and seconded the candidates without further opposition. The chair nominations received no additional contenders and Gillum was designated chair; Whitney was nominated and seconded for vice chair and confirmed when no other nominations were offered.
The election took place at the start of the meeting following roll call that established a quorum. Eckertheimer was recorded as absent; Commissioners Morgan, Whitney, Venuti and Gillum were present.
The committee moved on to agenda and consent items after the leadership appointments were concluded.
