Committee increases funds for turnout-gear cleaning contract through October 2025

A presenter explained turnout gear requires a deeper, station‑level clean twice a year with inspection and repairs performed as needed; the base price for cleaning one set of gear is $85 and typical repairs add about $250 per repair. The presenter estimated the $338,000 will cover approximately 1,500 cleanings including some repairs; if fewer repairs are needed the funds will cover more cleanings.
Commissioners approved the change order by voice vote. The committee did not specify a schedule for delivery of services beyond the existing term extension through Oct. 27, 2025.
