DeKalb committee approves Urban Area Security Initiative grant to buy binoculars, stretchers

A county presenter said the fire portion represents about half of the grant and the police portion covers the aviation binoculars. No public or committee members raised questions that altered the request. The committee approved the item by voice vote and moved on to subsequent agenda items.
The action ratifies acceptance of the federal/state Urban Area Security Initiative funds for the stated equipment purchases. No deadline, additional conditions, or implementation timeline was provided during the committee discussion.
