The board also approved the June 4, 2024 meeting minutes by roll call; the clerk recorded 10 ayes.
Items 2 through 6 were taken on consent and passed. Item 7, an ordinance to amend the business and tax regulations code to adjust certain transient occupancy tax exemption amounts (raising daily exemption thresholds from under $52 to under $60 and weekly exemption from under $130 to under $149) was finally passed on the same call. Item 9, a police-code amendment creating a two‑year pilot that would restrict overnight public hours for certain retail food and tobacco establishments in high-crime areas of the Tenderloin, was also passed on the consent call.
Items 10 through 33 — a multi-item budget and related ordinance package — were continued one week to the board’s next meeting with amendments to items 10 and 21. Supervisor Chan moved clerical corrections to item 10; Supervisor Ronan moved and the board adopted minor amendments to item 21 clarifying outreach and notice requirements for short‑term rental subsidy extensions. Supervisor Walton moved, and Supervisor Chan seconded, to continue items 10–33 (with items 10 and 21 as amended) one week; the motion carried without objection.
Item 34, an ordinance accepting irrevocable offers of public infrastructure related to the 1629 Market Street mixed‑use project, passed on first reading. Item 35, an ordinance considered by Land Use and Transportation Committee to conditionally permit vehicle storage lots in specified mixed‑use districts and rezone 135 Kissling Street, passed on first reading.
Separately, the board adopted several resolutions introduced for adoption without committee reference (items 39–40) by unanimous vote.
These procedural votes leave the major budget and appropriation ordinances to be acted on at the next meeting after the clerical corrections and minor amendments are incorporated.
