Planning commission recommends annexation of 13086 Southwest Butler Road

The Andover Planning Commission voted April 29 to recommend approval of an ordinance to annex 13086 Southwest Butler Road into the city, a small parcel intended to be part of the Southern Hills subdivision reserve.
Staff described the parcel as a "sliver of land" — about an acre — that had been missed in previous planning and needs to be included before the final plat for Southern Hills can be recorded. The parcel overlaps a small portion of two lots and is intended to be added to the reserve so the subdivision plat can be finalized.
A commissioner moved that the commission recommend approval of the annexation ordinance for 13086 Southwest Butler Road; the motion received a second and passed on a voice vote. The commission’s recommendation will be forwarded to the governing body for final action.
No members of the public spoke on the item. The planning commission did not attach special conditions beyond the usual platting and dedications process and agreed the annexation is a boundary clean-up to finalize the subdivision plat.
The motion will be forwarded with the planning commission’s recommendation and a written summary for consideration at the governing body’s May 13, 2025 meeting.
