The Grand Prairie City Council approved a resolution authorizing the city attorney to begin eminent domain proceedings to acquire 0.3136 acres of property for the Duncan Perry Road bridge replacement project over Johnson Creek. The motion, made by Mayor Pro Tem Clemson and seconded by Council member Bill Bosque, carried 8–0.
Noreen Housewright, director of engineering and utility services, told council the acquisition is part of a partnership capital-improvements project with the Texas Department of Transportation. She outlined the parcel in yellow on the presentation and noted an existing slope easement within the area. The resolution authorizes the city to use eminent domain to secure the property described as Lot 1, Block B of the Hidden Creek Addition, Grand Prairie, Tarrant County, Texas, at the southwest corner of Duncan Perry Road and Kingsley Drive, for the bridge replacement.
Council asked no substantive questions during the presentation. The resolution included a standard authorization for the city attorney or designee to commence eminent domain proceedings; council approved the measure by roll call.
