The Boise City Council approved multiple routine and land‑use items on April 22, voting to accept minutes and the consent agenda and to approve two preliminary/final plats and a comprehensive land‑use amendment affecting a property on West Amity Road.
Council actions of note:
- SUB 25‑6: Approved a preliminary and final plat for a residential subdivision of 53 buildable lots and 9 common lots at 5727 West Hill Road on 8.13 acres in R‑1B and R‑1C zones. The planning staff reported the proposal matches an earlier approved planning unit development and that the applicant had previously installed required street, sewer and water infrastructure. The council voted to approve the plat with recommended conditions; the motion carried unanimously.
- SUB 24‑44: Approved a preliminary and final plat for a residential subdivision of two buildable lots at 800 South Robert Street in an R‑2 zone. Staff said the proposal complies with dimensional standards and that a waiver was granted for detached sidewalks in favor of attached sidewalks to retain an existing street tree and avoid a nonconforming setback. The council approved the plat; the motion carried unanimously.
- CPA 25‑1: Approved a comprehensive land‑use amendment to remove 5.06 acres at 12504 West Amity Road from the Boise City area of impact. Staff explained the parcel abuts Meridian and that, owing to a sewer moratorium and the parcel’s non‑contiguity with Boise City limits, the property could not practically voluntary annex into Boise City; the amendment will allow the property to pursue eventual annexation into the City of Meridian. The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval and the council approved the amendment.
The council also handled routine business: minutes for prior meetings and the consent agenda were approved at the start of the session. Several ordinances were read on second reading by number and title as part of the record.
Motions were made and seconded for each item and votes were recorded by roll call; staff indicated recommended conditions of approval for plats would be enforced through recordation and permit requirements.
