District updates on new middle school, facility master plan and campus projects; PSFA/PSCOC scheduling remains uncertain

District facilities staff updated the board on ongoing and upcoming capital projects at the April 15 meeting, including the new middle school and Hauser replacement projects, several campus renovations, and the facility master plan procurement now that facility master plan funding was approved.
Facilities director Mr. Young (presenting) said College Lane is 100% complete and final invoice paid. The district has quotes to replace intercom and cabling at Sanger and Jefferson this summer, and is gathering quotes for classroom door replacements, roofing repairs at multiple campuses, two practice fields (football and soccer) and HVAC/electrical upgrades at Taylor and Mills elementary schools planned for next fiscal year. The district will use mill levy capital funds for certain projects and is collecting quotes for furniture, blinds and corridor flooring replacements.
Mr. Young said he and Superintendent Strickland met with PSFA in Santa Fe and that the district expects a special PSCOC meeting may be scheduled to act on the most time-sensitive projects. He described staff outreach to PSFA and an offer of potential Monday/Tuesday dates for a special meeting; no firm date had been confirmed at the time of the board meeting.
Staff also said the district will issue RFPs for architects because the Public School Facilities Authority approved facility master plan funding; the RFPs will begin the five-year master-planning process.
Facilities staff did not request board action beyond information and scheduling; board members asked no substantive changes during the update.
