Chief Matt Johnson addressed the council during public comment to recognize the county communications team for National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. Johnson described the dispatch assessment and hiring process and said the communications center dispatches for multiple agencies in the county (noting, in the meeting, four law-enforcement agencies, nine volunteer fire departments and four EMS agencies) and handles thousands of incidents per year.
