Select Board approves appointments, permits and routine business; votes at a glance

The Lakeville Select Board on April 14 approved several appointments, licenses and administrative items, including two appointments to the newly reconstituted Economic Development Committee, approval of a public entertainment and dancing permit for Red Hand Brewing, a water-connection authorization for 10 Harding Street, and reappointments of animal-control and veterans-service personnel. The board also voted to lay out a portion of Harrison Avenue as a public way related to the Route 79 project.

Appointments and committee assignments were a major portion of the meeting. The board approved Chris Plonka for multiple liaison roles earlier in the meeting and then voted to appoint Kristen Howard and Laurie Driscoll as two of three at-large members of the Economic Development Committee, with terms running through July 31, 2026. The board also confirmed a series of committee liaisons and appointments across dozens of town boards and subcommittees during the meeting.

On licenses and permits, the board granted Red Hand Brewing a dancing-on-weekdays permit and a public-entertainment-on-Sundays license for 348 Bedford Street through Dec. 31, 2025. Police and fire chiefs reported no objections.

In infrastructure and land-use actions, the board voted to accept a motion to lay out a portion of Harrison Avenue as a public roadway, and it approved a Totten Water connection for 10 Harding Street with a 6,000-gallon-per-day design flow, reserving the board's right to revisit the approval if building use or actual water use changes.

Other administrative actions included approving minutes, reappointing animal control staff and the veteran's agent, and multiple committee appointments. Where applicable, the board recorded votes by roll call.
