Burleson ISD reports $89.1 million in general fund revenues through February; oil-and-gas and tax receipts highlighted

Brenda Baez presented the district’s monthly financials for the period through February, reporting that general fund revenues were $89,100,000 (about 70% of budget) and general fund expenditures were $71,900,000 (about 55% of budget). Baez said food-service revenues were up from last year at $235,000, with food-service expenditures presented as $4,500,000. Debt-service revenues were reported at $37,900,000 with expenditures at $21,700,000. Special revenue funds were at about 55.6% through February as the district entered its third quarter for those grant cycles.
Baez said child-care revenues were $578,000 with expenditures at $592,000. For capital projects (including oil-and-gas revenues), she reported a beginning balance of $14,600,000 and a current balance of about $15,200,000 after modest activity; she noted a $644,000 activity figure and a small fee item of $8,000. On taxes, Baez reported February as the primary month for collections with $12,400,000 for that month and $84,600,000 for the fiscal year-to-date.
Construction updates included work on a clinic (interior progress noted) and ground-moving activity at Mound; Baez told the board payments were slight but progress was visible. Baez closed by saying that was all for the financials.
