Board recognizes students, robotics teams and teachers of the year
Summary

The Mustang Public Schools Board of Education recognized students-of-the-month, robotics teams and site teachers of the year during the superintendent’s report.
Staff presented one student from each school for demonstrating traits from the district's Bronco leadership code (leadership, effort, attitude, dependability, enthusiasm, respect, service, honesty, integrity and perseverance). Students named included Link Barajas (Centennial Elementary), Kenna Reeves (Creek Elementary), Elizabeth Gilbert (Lake Houma Elementary), Braden Peterson (Mustang Elementary), and others across elementary and secondary sites. Multiple speakers read teacher nominations describing the students’ traits.
The board also recognized intermediate and middle school robotics teams that competed in the FIRST LEGO League challenge, listing team members from Canyon Ridge (first place robot design), Horizon (second place robot design and innovation placements) and Meadowbrook (first place robot design). Coaches and student names were read aloud during the meeting.
Finally, the board recognized site teachers of the year from each school and announced Jacob Chin as the district teacher of the year who will proceed to the state level.
Board members and the superintendent invited parents forward to take photographs following the recognition segment. No formal board action was required for the recognitions.
