Toledo officials seek $1.6 million for vehicle and equipment replacements, including EVs

The Department of Public Service asked Toledo City Council on April 15 for authorization to spend up to $1.6 million from the Capital Improvement Fund to replace non-emergency vehicles, specialized equipment and marked police cars.
The request combined two agenda items. Megan Robson, director for the Department of Public Service, introduced the proposals and turned the presentation over to Rick Aikman of Fleet and Facilities, who said the department seeks $1,100,000 for non-emergency vehicles and equipment and $500,000 for police vehicle replacement. Aikman said the police allocation would fund about “6 complete units” including decals and emergency equipment.
