SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio City Council Transportation and Infrastructure Committee on April 15 named a two-member ad hoc panel to screen applicants for the Airport Advisory Commission, after hearing that the department had received dozens of submissions for multiple openings.
At the meeting the chair cited the applicant pool: “We had how many applicants, John, for that? Like, 50 something,” a committee member said. Committee staff confirmed there are nine current openings on the Airport Advisory Commission and that the ad hoc panel would review resumes and narrow finalists for interviews before the committee in May.
The committee asked two council members and two community volunteers to work with staff to agree on a review timeline and suggested the panel provide a recommended slate of finalists at the committee’s May meeting. The committee did not record a formal roll-call vote on the appointment; members present agreed to the process and the chair closed the item.
