Grayson County receives first-quarter update on jail additions and renovation; project on schedule and within budget

Grayson County Commissioners Court received a quarterly progress report on the county jail additions and renovation project and heard that the work is on schedule and currently within the project budget.
Bob Myers of AGCM, the county’s project management firm, told commissioners that site work and foundation piers are complete, pad preparation is finished and kitchen demolition is done. He reported the project at about 9.4% complete and said concrete grade-beam pours began the week of the report. Myers listed milestone targets: kitchen completion in September 2025, the jail addition substantial completion targeted for July 16, 2026, and a shower renovation to follow in September 2026.
Myers said under-slab utilities and slab installation are planned next and invited commissioners to visit the site. Commissioners asked no formal questions demanding action, and the court took no vote on the update; staff said no court action was required at this time.
