DSAC approves amended minutes and elects Rachel Purcell as vice chair

The Benton County Disposal Site Advisory Committee approved minutes from its Sept. 19 meeting with amendments and elected Rachel Purcell as vice chair during the Oct. 9 meeting.
During the minutes discussion, members proposed edits to clarify language about where testimony should be submitted for landfill‑expansion decisions, to correct references (for example, changing "near fire department" to "Adair Rural Fire Department"), and to adjust wording about public comment and meeting dates. A motion to approve the minutes with the proposed amendments was moved and seconded; the chair called for those in favor and recorded the minutes as approved.
On the open vice chair position, multiple members were nominated and discussed availability. Rachel Purcell was nominated and, after a second, accepted the nomination. The committee voted by raised hands and the chair welcomed Purcell as vice chair. The chair said the committee will hold elections again before the end of the year for the chair position.
The committee took these actions during routine administrative business and did not attach conditions or other policy directives to the votes.
