Collierville BMA approves FY25 budget amendments to fund parks donation, well‑pump work and sewer projects

The Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved Resolution 2025‑20 on March 24 to amend the town’s fiscal year 2025 budgets for the General Fund, Water and Sewer Fund and Capital Investment Program and to authorize internal transfers.
Budget officer JP Spas told the board that Parks requested appropriation of a $20,000 donation from Shelby County, to be taken from the town’s restricted general fund balance for improvements to the town‑square train car. Public Utilities requested appropriation of $79,025.72 of unrestricted water and sewer fund cash for the replacement of well pumps 102, 103 and 303, which would bring that project budget to $589,025.72. Public Utilities also requested appropriation of $2,820.23 from a T. Deck Grama award and $3,121.02 of unrestricted water and sewer cash for a sewer rehabilitation CIP project, and a transfer of $219,400 from the Shelton Road wastewater treatment plant outfall stabilization project to the sewer rehabilitation project; both wastewater projects are funded by the same cooperative T. Deck/Grama award and would bring the total sewer rehabilitation project budget to $1,354,821 if approved.
Finance staff also asked the board to appropriate an additional $81,004.28 in the town’s capital investment program to reflect other changes in the capital project budget, Spas said. Staff was available for questions; none were raised.
A motion to approve the resolution passed on a roll call vote with all members voting yes. The consent and approval will allow the specific CIP and operational adjustments to proceed under the town’s fiscal rules.
