Scituate promotes sergeant, swears in two lateral officers to bolster police staffing

The Scituate Town Council recognized a promotion and two hires in the Scituate Police Department at its meeting, administering oaths and issuing formal recognition.

The chief described Bullock’s two decades with the Lincoln Police Department and more recent work with the Rhode Island Airport Corporation and noted his degrees from Roger Williams University and Salve Regina University. The chief said Perez served in the Rhode Island Army National Guard and worked for the Transportation Security Administration before joining the Rhode Island Airport Corporation Police Department; Perez had been an explosives detection canine handler prior to seeking a lateral move to Scituate.
Families of the officers were invited to the stage for the swearing-in. The chief spoke briefly about the officers’ qualifications and the department’s expectations for their probationary service. No personnel disciplinary or salary details beyond stating that compensation would follow the collective bargaining agreement with the International Brotherhood of Police Officers (IBPO) Local 502 were discussed during the presentation.
The council’s minutes reflect the promotional and hiring actions as part of routine personnel business; the swearing-in closed with congratulatory remarks and the council’s acknowledgment of the officers’ service.
