The district will not raise single-event ticket prices this year and will keep student/adult prices at $5 and $7. Student and adult season passes were increased by $10 and family activity passes by $25.
The board heard staff explain built-in protections for families. The district will continue a special-considerations registration rate set at 50% of the regular fee and a family-max option that can effectively exempt families from individual registration charges. The activities director said those mechanisms exist so that cost will not prevent student participation; he estimated special-consideration registrations are about 10% of current registrations (the number provided as an approximate figure in the meeting).
Board members asked how families learn about the special-consideration process and whether participation numbers have fallen after prior fee increases. Mr. McChine said the activities office announces the policy in the fall parent/athlete meeting, posts materials on jordanactivities.org and works directly with coaches and the administrative assistant to process requests and refunds if a family accidentally overpays toward a family max.
After discussion the board approved the fee changes by voice vote. The activities director will publish the revised fee schedule and the application process for special considerations before the next registration cycle.
