The Ellis County Commission approved Purchase Order 7917 to Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions for asphalt maintenance materials for the 2025 season.
Road and Bridge Supervisor Curt Hoffman told commissioners the purchase covers materials needed for asphalt work this year — including mixing, sealants and tack oil — and that crews plan to start mixing asphalt within one to two weeks. Hoffman said materials will be trucked in from Dodge City.
Commissioners asked about delivery speed; Hoffman said delivery is relatively quick and indicated work could start shortly after approval. The motion to approve the PO passed by voice vote, 3-0.
No additional financing details beyond the PO number were discussed on the record.
