Stafford MSD publishes AI-use procedures and plans first Inspire Tech conference

Stafford Municipal School District officials presented a newly published set of DistrictAI procedures and announced the district’s first Inspire Tech education-technology conference, scheduled for June 26.
The DistrictAI procedures, which staff described as "procedures" rather than policy, provide guidance for students, teachers and staff on acceptable and unacceptable uses of artificial-intelligence tools; citation and transparency requirements; permitted and prohibited applications; and training expectations. The procedures cite a committee review process and a plan to update the document periodically as AI tools evolve. Staff noted the procedures were distributed to parents and staff via ParentSquare and email.
"One of the first things is keeping the learning human centered," the presentation said, describing guiding principles for responsible AI use. Staff also said they had produced quick-reference one-page guides for students and educators to summarize the longer procedures.
Trustees asked about enforcement and oversight for gray-area cases. Staff said an oversight committee will review contested uses and that the procedures include reporting and review steps; curriculum and instructional leadership (for tie-breaking or arbitration) would be involved in enforcement decisions.
Staff also announced Inspire Tech, a district-hosted technology conference on June 26 with registration at the Stafford Center and breakout sessions at the high school. The district said it expected 250–300 attendees and listed sponsors and vendors already committed, including Magic School, Smart Financial, Frost Bank and Starbucks. Organizers said the conference will include tracks on AI and education, digital citizenship, accessibility and classroom innovation, and will use an event app for schedules and maps.
Staff framed the conference as part of a broader strategy to support classroom technology use and professional learning. Trustees and staff discussed logistics, vendor sessions and continued outreach to other districts.
