District recognizes February PBIS staff members of the month

Sierra Vista Unified’s PBIS team honored three staff members from Buena High School for exemplifying the district’s expectations to be safe, respectful and responsible.
The Sierra Vista Unified School District recognized three Buena High School staff members as February 2025 PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) staff members of the month at the governing board meeting.
Michelle Wombat, standing in for Nicole Parker, presented the awards and described the PBIS nomination and selection process: staff nominate colleagues who exemplify one of the district’s PBIS expectations — be safe, be respectful, be responsible — and the district PBIS team selects one staff member for each category. The recipients receive a certificate and a digital badge for their email signatures.
The district recognized Luis Marietta (Buena High School) for “Be Safe,” a staff member identified as “Miss McCorkle” for “Be Respectful,” and Carrie Muscarella for “Be Responsible.” The district thanked the honorees and invited them to receive photographs and recognition with the board and superintendent. The recognitions were presented as informational; no board action accompanied the awards.
