At the Jersey Shore Area School District Board meeting on April 14, 2025, district staff presented a budget status report showing a preliminary deficit of $147,286.
Mister Enders told the board that the document at each member’s seat included revenue by local, state and federal sources and a districtwide budget overview. He said the district will deliver a formal budget presentation and that the board is scheduled to vote on the preliminary budget at the April 28 meeting. "Preliminary budget. Right now what I want to report to the Board is currently the budget sits at a deficit of just $147,286," Enders said.
Enders also told the board that he and Doctor Ulmer will recommend a tax proposal at the next meeting; the transcript records that the board will vote on a tax decision in May. Enders reminded board members that, by law, a preliminary budget must be passed at least 30 days before a final budget.
Board members did not take a formal vote on the preliminary budget at the April 14 meeting; the formal presentation and preliminary budget vote are scheduled for April 28. Staff noted the budget picture can change between preliminary and final versions.
