Council pulls daycare agreement clause from tonight's agenda; will return to committee for informational session

She told the council members she expected the matter to return to the Housing, Redevelopment and Community Programs committee within about 30 days for an informational session and possible recommendation. "We would very possibly hear, like, an informational session on how we got here. This project has been in motion since prior to the pandemic 2018, 2019," she said.
Councilor Bickle asked about timing and whether April 30 was intended for committee meetings. The mayor and staff agreed to set the date to be determined and to coordinate with council leadership. "I'll just put a date to be determined," Mayor Davis said during the exchange.
Why this matters: The item is part of a longer-running development project with a history dating back to at least 2018–2019; council members raised questions and concerns after a committee meeting, prompting the decision to seek further briefing and to allow developers and staff time to examine alternatives.
Public comment on related childcare policy surfaced during the meeting.
