- Capital outlay (6.1): Motion to approve the capital outlay as presented; vote recorded 7-0. Staff said passing the bond lets the district proceed with the capital plan previously presented.
- Open enrollment (6.2): Motion by Courtney, second by Barb to approve open enrollment as presented, including program-specific capacity limits. The board approved changes that include admitting up to 10 students into the IB pathway at Haysville High through the established sequence (students must progress through Campus first) and five total special education seats across listed programs (k-5 mixed ability at Rex: 1; k-5 mixed ability at Ruth Clark: 1; k-5 life skills at Prairie: 1; k-5 positive behavior at Freeman: 2). Vote recorded 7-0.
- Temporary summer help (6.3): Motion by Tasha, second by Jeremy to approve temporary summer hires for maintenance, painters, mowers and general maintenance positions; vote recorded in the meeting as "5 and 0" on the floor (see provenance). The district said 18 positions were posted and hiring would follow posted procedures; overtime will not be used to cover positions.
- KASB policy update (6.4): Motion by Courtney, second by Kelly to adopt KASB policy updates as presented; vote recorded 7-0.
- Computer purchase (6.5): Motion to approve computer purchases not to exceed approximately $950,000, with the largest component the purchase of Chromebooks (staff estimated roughly 2,100 devices). The district plans to stop leasing and instead buy the devices outright; part of the appropriation would cover a $240,000 lease payoff. Vote recorded 7-0.
Executive sessions: The board entered executive session several times in closed session for negotiations and for student-related matters; minutes show the board reconvened and stated no binding decisions were made in those executive sessions.
Ending: Board members asked staff to follow established procurement rules (state contract where applicable) and to return with any required follow-up at future meetings, including monthly bond and implementation updates.
