The Shawnee Parks and Recreation Department introduced a new Parks and Recreation mobile app at the April 14 city council meeting. The app is available at no cost on iPhone and Android devices and, according to the city's meeting summary, lets users manage their online account, store a digital copy of pool passes and register for Parks and Rec programs.
City communications director Doug Donahue said the app also provides a way for residents to manage their subscriptions to city emails. The summary does not include a demonstration transcript or comments from Parks and Recreation staff in the audio wrap-up.
The app launch was described as the final presentation of the evening; the meeting then moved to an executive session. The summary indicates the app is available immediately in mobile app stores.
