El Segundo Education Foundation reports strong fall pledge drive; Chevron provided $100,000 match

Carol Perstick, representing the El Segundo Education Foundation, told the board the foundation’s fall pledge drive surpassed last year’s total and that the foundation was on track to exceed $1,100,000 in community donations.
“I'm Carol Perstick, El Segundo Education Foundation. I just wanna give a shout out and thank you to everybody who donated in our fall pledge drive. We we surpassed last year's number and we're on track to beat our $1,100,000 donations from our community,” Perstick said.
Perstick said Chevron provided a $100,000 matching gift and that the foundation will receive that match. She also thanked Citizens Business Bank for a $10,000 contribution.
Perstick and another speaker noted the upcoming Sketchers Walk is this Sunday; a donor covered registration costs for teachers. Board materials and an on‑stage exchange stated registration stood at 1,211 as of the meeting, compared with 1,181 at the same point last year.
Perstick also described upcoming fundraising and community events including Ladies Night Out on Nov. 20 and fall programming for middle and high school (presented as "Bridal UN" in the remarks). She said the foundation is “excited to raise the $2,200,000 for for the district.”
No board action was required; the report was provided as a special presentation.
