Community announcements: job fair, volunteer openings, workshops, leadership programs and local events

Several short community announcements followed the nonprofit spotlights at Good Morning Truckee.

Organizers promoted a Truckee job fair in April at the TruckeeSteve Randall Recreation Center and said employer booths remain available; the event is free for employers and widely advertised.

Gateway Mountain Center representatives said volunteer roles exist for event staffing and organization skills; some mentor positions are paid paraprofessional roles, and volunteers may help with outreach and events.

Kathleen from Peak Digital Studio said the firm is offering 20% off web and branding services to local businesses and nonprofits during April.

Amber of Silent A Photography said she donates to silent auctions and accepts private- and nonprofit-photography requests; the Truckee Library announced smartphone-photography workshops with Lisa Carney and a June landscape session and photo walk.

The Truckee Tahoe Community Foundation said its "Future Salon" on prescribed and cultural burns will be held Thursday (registration at ttcf.net is required); the Courage Project previewed a summer adult grief program called Beyond Horizons that pairs therapeutic interventions with outdoor recreation.

Susan Dacabazzi, in partnership with the Chamber, described a Next Level Leadership program for established supervisors and managers: an eight-month series of ten three-hour sessions focused on communication, culture and running effective meetings; registration opens for a September cohort.

Speakers closed the meeting with door-prize drawings and thanks to sponsors and volunteers.
