The Westminster Mayor and Common Council on April 14 confirmed a mayoral appointee to the Board of Zoning Appeals, approved the consent calendar and the March 2025 minutes, and voted to adjourn into a closed session to discuss personnel matters.
Mayor Becky Becker introduced a nominee for the Board of Zoning Appeals and the council moved to confirm the appointment after a brief endorsement by Council President Greg Pecoraro. A motion to approve the mayor’s appointment carried by voice vote. The council next approved the consent calendar, which contained four items, and unanimously approved the March 2025 minutes after a separate motion.
Later in the meeting the council voted to adjourn into a closed meeting at the end of the regular session under the Annotated Code of Maryland, General Provisions Article, §3-305(b)(1), citing discussion of personnel matters that affect one or more specific individuals. That motion was made and seconded from the dais and adopted by voice vote.
Actions recorded on the public agenda and approved by the council at the meeting were routine in nature and were handled by voice votes; no roll-call tallies were recorded in the meeting minutes presented at the session. Staff members present were directed to follow up on outstanding operational items as needed.
