Board unanimously confirms two technology coordinator appointments

The Clayton County Board of Education unanimously approved two superintendent recommendations to fill district technology coordinator roles.

The superintendent recommended Daniel Lee for the position of coordinator of instructional technology. Jesse Goree moved the nomination and Mary Baker seconded; the chair called the vote and recorded unanimous approval. “Thank you so much, Ford, mister congratulations, sir,” the superintendent said when the confirmation was announced.

The board also approved the superintendent’s recommendation for coordinator of technical operations, recorded in the transcript with variations in the candidate’s surname. A board member accepted the recommendation by voice, a second was recorded and the chair announced the vote as unanimous. The transcript includes different renderings of the technical coordinator’s last name during the meeting; the motion and the unanimous approval, however, are clearly recorded.

Both hires were presented as superintendent recommendations and were congratulated on the boardroom floor. The meeting did not include contract terms, salaries or start dates for either appointment on the public record in the transcript.
