Shoreline City Council unanimously appointed four candidates to the Parks, Recreation, Cultural Services and Tree Board April 14.
Mary Reedy presented the council subcommittee's recommendation after a January recruitment that produced 15 applicants. The subcommittee of Mayor Christopher Roberts and Council member Robertson interviewed six candidates and recommended four appointments: Alexa Valette and Mary Anne Grafton for second terms, and Amy Marshall and Wendy Cho Ripps for first terms. Reedy said three positions were open due to term expirations and one incumbent, Dustin McIntyre, had chosen not to seek reappointment.
Council member Robertson moved for the reappointments; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously on roll call. The appointments are for four‑year terms beginning in April 2025; staff noted orientation for new appointees would be scheduled if they accept.
Council members praised the applicant pool and thanked outgoing members for their service. The council did not alter the subcommittee’s recommendations.
