Collierville approves $465,227.50 SSES amendment for three critical sewer basins; town match rises by $13,649

The Collierville Board of Mayor and Aldermen on March 24 approved a contract amendment to add sanitary sewer evaluation study (SSES) work for three critical sewer basins identified during an investigative phase, increasing the town’s matching obligation on grant‑funded sewer projects.

Staff described the amendment as additional SSES work to identify sources of infiltration and inflow (I&I) in three critical basins and to develop targeted repairs. The consultant proposal from Trek Design Group was presented at $465,227.50 to complete the SSES tasks identified in the investigative phase. Work described in the proposal includes smoke testing of 168,600 linear feet of sewer line, inspection of 775 sewer manholes, cleaning and CCTV inspection of 38,500 linear feet of sewer lines between 8 and 18 inches in diameter, and cleaning and CCTV inspection of 2,000 linear feet of sewer lines between 24 and 30 inches in diameter. The expected time frame to complete the SSES portion is about eight months.

The board had previously approved participation in the Division of Water Resources ARP grant program and acceptance of Shelby County funding; the total grant contract is $2.6 million with $1.3 million budgeted for the sewer rehabilitation project and a state funding component and local match. Staff said adding the SSES work would increase the town’s contribution by $13,649 (the town‑funded portion for the three GRAMA projects rising from $241,362 to $255,011). The board approved the amendment on a roll call vote.
