Collierville amends FY2025 budgets to fund parks donation, well‑pump work and sewer rehabilitation adjustments

The Collierville Board of Mayor and Aldermen on March 24 approved Resolution 2025‑20, which amends portions of the fiscal year 2025 general fund, water and sewer fund and capital investment program budgets to reflect recent donations, grants and project adjustments.
JP Spas, the town’s budget officer, told the board the parks department requested an appropriation of a $20,000 donation from Shelby County that is held in the general fund restricted fund balance for improvements to Town Square. Public utilities requested appropriation of $79,025.72 of water and sewer fund unrestricted cash for the Well Pumps 102, 103 and 303 replacement CIP project; that change will bring that project’s total budget to $589,025.72. Public utilities also requested appropriation of $2,820.23 of a TDEC grama award and $3,121.02 of water and sewer unrestricted cash for the sewer rehabilitation CIP project and asked to transfer $219,497.75 from the Shelton Road wastewater treatment plant outfall stabilization project to the sewer rehabilitation project; staff said both projects are funded by the same TDEC cooperative grant and that the change will bring the total sewer rehabilitation project budget to $1,354,821.
If the capital project budget amendments are approved, finance requested a budget amendment to appropriate an additional $81,428.55 in the town’s capital investment program to reflect the adjustments.
After staff presentation there were no questions and the board approved the resolution by roll call.
