Council approves rezoning for property at 5201 Mountain View Circle (Z24-00026)

Staff described the property as about 80,000 square feet (approximately 4.14 acres) on the north side of the Mountain View Park addition. Nearby zoning includes GA, R1 Rural Estate, and L2 Lake Residential; the R2A district allows single-family detached residential dwellings with relatively large setbacks and a minimum lot size of 60,000 square feet. Staff said the city’s comprehensive plan designates the area as appropriate for neighborhood residential uses. The planning commission recommended approval on March 4, 2025 by a 4–0 vote.
The applicant did not add substantive comments at the council hearing, and no members of the public spoke on the item. A council motion and vote approved the rezoning and ordinance 4031.
